INTENTIONAL SUCCESS VOL.6

NOURISH AND NURTURE YOUR MIND!
(You are your mind’s farmer)
Weekly Motivation for 27th October – 30th October 2015 by Ndimofor Aretas
Good Morning dear students;
Today is the start of another wonderful week.  I can tell by your looks that you are ready for another round of great motivational words to take you through this week.
In my write-up for today, I will be revealing to you some important sources of your thoughts, how they affect your success and why you should select what you put into your mind or expose your mind to.  This is step 1 in the process of washing your attitude window.
If you can recall from my previous write-up (volume 5), I said many great things including success start from the mind… the fact that so does failure….
A great success writer broadcaster and speaker called Earl Nightingale, revealed that the key to success and failure lies in the following six words:
WE BECOME WHAT WE THINK ABOUT
The Bible contains numerous references to thinking, including these:
“According to your faith be it unto you.” (Matthew 9:29)
“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7)
But where do our THOUGHTS come from….?
In summary, our THOUGHTS come from our daily interactions.  All what we take into our minds through all our five senses, especially what we see and hear…!
With this in mind, I will like you to understand that you can control your thoughts by controlling what you allow into your mind.
If you want your thoughts to be success inclined, then nourish your mind with success related things.  Another thing to do is to NURTURE success thoughts (that is find the smallest thought of success in your mind and help it to grow).
But why is it important to nourish and nurture our mind…?
This is simply because….. Thought comes before action… this is how it goes…
Our Thoughts grow into Words,
Our Words grow Beliefs,
Our Beliefs grow into Actions and after every action, there is a Result.
The sad part is that we hardly control what we feed into our minds…  we expose our minds to negative things that only help to “dirty our attitude windows” and can even make us feel like we will never succeed…!
One student came up to me and complained saying… “Sir, you said we should listen to our minds… well, during the just ended first sequence evaluations, I tried to listen to my mind, but all I could hear was loud music and when I close my eyes, all that came up were images of my favourite series….”
I am sure many students will agree that this has happened to them and is still happening…..!
The simple truth is that the mind is like a piece of farm land and YOU ARE THE FARMER….
If a farmer wishes to harvest corn, maize or groundnuts during harvesting season, then he or she must plant and cultivate corn, maize or groundnuts seeds during the planting season.
YOUR ARE YOUR MIND’S FARMER….!, If your wish to harvest good and positive thoughts, words, beliefs, actions and results from your mind, then you must start and continue planting positive seeds into your mind….!
Just like in any farm, grass usually grows and may disturb the crops on the farm from growing properly or at all…. That is why the farmer needs to constantly weed their farm and get rid of the grass.
We too must constantly weed all negative thoughts from our minds…
The main lesson I will like you to learn today is that REPETITION IS THE KEY…
If you wish to master any subject or subjects, expose your mind to them as much as possible; plant seeds of each of those subjects in your mind through constant repeated reading, solving of past questions; explain what you have studied with others and listen to what others can say about those subjects and you will be able to remember the points during tests or exams…!
Dear students, now that you know this; I am encouraging you from today onward; to start feeding your mind with positive seeds so that in the nearest future, you will start harvesting positive results for yourselves.  In my next write-up, I will tell you how you can use your words to improve upon your success.
The student I told you of earlier could only think of songs and films or movies because he had exposed his minds to those songs and films repeatedly….!  In other words he had planted songs and films in his mind.
Our minds cannot select what it takes in by itself… we need to guard what we put into it because what you put in is exactly what you get out…!
It is summarized as GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT..!
Apart from your book work, I am encouraging you to also Nourish your mind with God’s word.  Remember that He made you including your mind.  There is nothing more important to any society than Educated and God-fearing citizens….!
An example of thoughts you can use to constantly weed negative ideas of failure from your mind are these ones I read from the Bible:
Luke 18:27: “… what is impossible for man, is possible for God.”
Mark 9:23: “If you can believe, all things are possible.”
IN JESUS’ NAME….., AMEN.
