RESPONSIBLE!

MERRY
CHRISTMAS TO YOU!;
The very festive season is here and
this is one of those periods where a lot of things happen! Both positive
and negative....
I believe that so far, you already know a great deal about actions, how they
come about and their consequences and so I believe you are going to take
control of how you spend this period.
This is one period of the year where
we are challenged to BE RESPONSIBLE and BE CAREFUL. There are a lot of tempting situations to
resist and tough choices to make. It is
also one of those periods where we need to LET THE LIGHT SHINE.... and so we need to overcome a lot of
adversities, obstacles and challenges, 80% of which lie within us.
The last two write ups talked all
about the roadblocks that lie between us and anything we intend to
achieve. This write up is focused on
ROADBLOCK NUMBER 1; which is YOURSELF!
The first step to removing YOURSELF
out of YOUR WAY is to accept a certain degree of responsibility over yourself
and your actions!
ARE YOU RESPONSIBLE
ENOUGH?
I
was also puzzled about BEING RESPONSIBLE and this is how a priest defined it to
me in the simplest way. He said
RESPONSIBILITY is
“KNOWING WHAT TO DO,
HOW TO DO IT AND WHEN TO DO IT!”
As
a student, I believe that if you know what you have to do, how to do it and
when you have to do it, your success is inevitable!
I
challenge your today, to find out your level of responsibility over your life
and then to take it to another level by becoming more responsible.
Ask
yourself the following three questions whenever you are about to do;
1. Do
I know WHAT to do? Or I’m I doing what I’m supposed to be doing?
2. Do
I know HOW to do it? I’m I doing
it the right way?
3. Is
this WHEN to do it? I’m I doing
it at the right place and time?
Once
you are able to answer the above questions to a certain degree, you will feel
more confident and more in control. This
is very good for your personal happiness and success!
On
the other hand, if you are unable to answer these questions, then you are surely
just moving
with the crowd. Therefore other
people are controlling you and I bet that you are not very happy with all that
is happening to you! So STOP! Find a quiet spot somewhere where you can
think, and then evaluate your level of responsibility!
If
you really wish to be happy and successful, then you have to ask yourself the
above questions as often as possible!
In
my next write – up, I will be explaining more about why it is important to take
responsibility over your life.
In the mean time, I am urging you to start asking
yourself those questions NOW.
During
this festive Holiday season, a lot of tempting situations will come up and
require you to take RESPONSIBLE DECISIONS!
You will be tempted maybe to do things which you normally never did such
as;
-
Smoking
-
Getting drunk
-
Having a boyfriend or a girlfriend,
-
Having sex (maybe for the first time)
-
Clubbing all night, and so on....
So
what is it going to be? Are you going to
ask WHAT, HOW and WHEN? Or are you just
going to follow the crowd?
I know you are wiser than that!
Do
not limit those questions to your actions, ask the same questions before you
SAY anything.
1. What
are you saying?
2. How
are you saying it?
3. Are
you saying it at the right place and time?
Another big question I will like you to answer is WHY?
WHY
ARE YOU DOING OR SAYING IT?
I
therefore define RESPONSIBILITY as;
KNOWING
WHAT TO DO, HOW TO DO IT, WHEN TO DO IT AND WHY YOU ARE DOING IT!
Dear
students, be responsible and take proper care of yourselves. You are the future, the society of tomorrow,
the future leaders. Start now and be
responsible. Make this Christmas season,
a positive one for you and those around you.
Let your light shine. Shine the
light of Christ, the new Born King. let
the Almighty God guide your actions and may you have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS...
IN
JESUS’ NAME,
AMEN.
